Enrique Fuentes is a seasoned Attorney at Law, bolstered by a master’s degree in International Business Law (LLM). Employment History

  • Currently serves as the Managing Partner at Abacanto Abogados y Consultores, advising both local and foreign corporations in a variety of areas including Corporate, Commercial, Labor Law and Employment, Trademark, Compliance, and Litigation.
  • From 2006 to 2015, served as Senior Attorney at FuentesMaillet y Asociados in Santiago, Chile, counseling corporations in legal and judicial matters, and taking part in a wide range of corporate activities such as mergers, stock and asset purchases and sales, and corporate recapitalizations.
  • From 2006 to 2010, served as a Director at the publicly traded company, Schwager, where he was involved in the definition of general policies, attending Board of Directors and Shareholders Meetings, and participating in Legal, Regulatory and Ethics Committees.
  • From 2001 to 2006, served as a Senior In-House Attorney at Entel PCS Telecomunicaciones S.A., leading an International Contract Area, advising the company in all types of local and foreign commercial and civil contracts, and handling Corporate issues relating to Board of Directors meetings and Shareholders meetings according to Chilean Corporate Law.
  • From 2000 to 2001, worked as an International Associate at Holland & Knight LLP in Miami, United States, where he was involved in a number of international legal matters including Latin American telecommunications, banking, finance, corporate and business issues, and Project Finance issues in South America.
  • From 1997 to 1999, served as an In-House Attorney at Banco de A. Edwards in Santiago, Chile, where he was involved in various legal procedures related to banking and finance such as mortgage procedures, executions and collecting procedures, and drafting lawsuits against bank’s debtors.
